Intelligence Agency Invests In Automation For Real-Time Insights
The National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency is expanding its use of artificial intelligence to process growing volumes of geospatial data, as demand for ‘always-on’ intelligence continues to grow. According to NGA’s deputy director, Brett Markham, the agency is using AI to reduce latency and narrow uncertainty for intelligence analysts, rather than treating automation as a solution in itself. The NGA is also investing in multimodal AI models to increase analysts’ productivity, and has launched a ‘computer vision model accreditation campaign’ to validate algorithms for national security applications, as reported by SpaceNews.
