Firefly Aerospace Expands Leadership with Industry Veteran Chris Emerson

Firefly Aerospace has appointed Chris Emerson to its Board of Directors, effective immediately. Emerson, a seasoned industry leader with decades of aerospace expertise, joins Firefly from AE Industrial Partners, where he serves as an Operating Partner. Emerson previously served as Chairman & CEO of Airbus U.S. Space & Defense, Inc. and President of Airbus Helicopters, Inc. He holds a BS degree from the University of Alabama. Firefly’s recent successful launch of its Alpha FLTA002 mission and selection by the U.S. Space Force’s Space Systems Command and NASA underscore the company’s growing presence in the space industry. Firefly is a portfolio company of AE Industrial Partners, a U.S.-based private equity firm specializing in aerospace, defense & government services, space, power & utility services, and specialty industrial markets.
