Firefly Space Transport Services Secures Sole Source Contract for 500-1000 kg Launch Services
Firefly Space Transport Services has been awarded a $300M contract by NASA to provide launch services for the Venture-Class Acquisition of Dedicated and Rideshare (VADR) missions in the 500-1000 kg range. The contract has a five-year ordering period and is the result of a sole source negotiation with NASA. Firefly’s Alpha rocket will provide a broad range of Federal Aviation Administration-licensed commercial launch services capable of delivering payloads ranging from CubeSats to Class D missions to a variety of orbits. The company has completed development and conducted its first test launch, and is committed to providing NASA and other U.S. government entities with responsive, repeatable, reliable space transportation services. The contract was announced by Firefly Aerospace, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Firefly Aerospace, Inc, and is part of the company’s existing VCLS and CLPS contracts.
