Private Launch Company Achieves Milestone with Successful Test Flight
Firefly Aerospace conducted the maiden flight of its Alpha launch vehicle from Vandenberg Space Force Base in California on September 2nd. The test flight was successful, but the vehicle did not reach orbit due to an electrical issue. Firefly obtained substantial flight data that will be used to improve the design of future Alpha launch vehicles. The company is currently integrating the second flight vehicle for its next launch.
