Pilatus Business Aircraft Ltd has adopted a vocational training model in its Broomfield subsidiary, offering apprenticeships that combine class study with practical learning. The program, which includes paid apprenticeships with college credits and benefits, is a rarity in the US. According to Kaitlin West, the program’s administrator, it provides a unique opportunity for local youth to grow with a successful company. Pilatus is partnering with the Department of Labour and the community to offer this innovative training model. The program is internationally recognized, and apprentices are encouraged to apply for different positions within the company upon completion of their training.
