Pilatus PC-24 Enhances Medical Evacuation Capabilities in Australia
The Royal Flying Doctor Service of Australia (RFDS Central Operations) has taken delivery of its first Pilatus PC-24, a jet-powered aircraft designed for medical evacuation. The PC-24 offers improved range, speed, and cargo capacity, allowing for faster and more efficient transport of patients. RFDS Central Operations has transitioned its pilots from the PC-12 to the PC-24, with five pilots currently flying the new aircraft. The service has praised the PC-24’s performance and handling on rough field strips. Pilatus’s relationship with RFDS Central Operations dates back to the launch of the PC-12 25 years ago.
