Korean National Police Adds Airbus H225 for Security, Rescue Missions
The Korean National Police Agency (KNPA) has ordered a single Airbus H225 multirole helicopter to bolster its security and emergency response capabilities. Announced on November 24, 2025, the aircraft will primarily serve law enforcement and counter-terrorism operations while also supporting search and rescue, humanitarian relief, and disaster response missions. The H225 joins Airbus’ proven Super Puma/Cougar family, which has accumulated over six million flight hours worldwide. With a range of 1,111 kilometers and payload capacity of 4,750 kilograms, the helicopter can transport up to 28 troops or accommodate six stretchers for medical evacuation operations. Vincent Dubrule, Head of Asia-Pacific at Airbus Helicopters, emphasized the H225’s reputation as a reliable multi-mission platform. Over 360 H225s currently operate globally across military and civilian agencies, with nearly 980,000 total flight hours demonstrating the platform’s operational maturity and versatility.
