Korean Air to Build $119 Billion Mega Maintenance Hangar at Incheon
Korean Air is investing approximately $119 billion in a state-of-the-art maintenance hangar at Incheon International Airport as part of its strategic expansion into global MRO services. The H3 Maintenance Facility Development Project will span 69,299 square meters and simultaneously handle two widebody and one narrowbody aircraft, employing around 300 maintenance specialists. Construction begins in 2027 with operations targeted for late 2029. The investment underscores Korean Air’s commitment to aviation safety and positions the facility as essential infrastructure for the airline’s merger with Asiana Airlines, while strengthening Incheon’s status as Asia’s premier maintenance hub.
