Hungary Receives Complete Embraer C-390 Military Transport Fleet

Hungary has achieved a significant military aviation milestone, becoming the first nation worldwide to receive its complete fleet of Embraer C-390 Millennium multi-mission aircraft. Brazilian aerospace manufacturer Embraer delivered the country’s second C-390 at Kecskemet Air Base on November 21, 2025, in a ceremony attended by Defence Minister Kristóf Szalay-Bobrovniczky and Embraer executives. The delivery is particularly noteworthy given the outstanding performance of Hungary’s first C-390, which has achieved a 99% mission completion rate since entering service in late 2024. The versatile transport aircraft will handle diverse operations including medical evacuations, humanitarian relief, cargo transport, search and rescue, and air-to-air refueling. Hungary’s C-390s feature a groundbreaking modular intensive care unit that can convert the cargo bay into a flying hospital, addressing a critical capability gap in the Hungarian Air Force while positioning the country as an early adopter of modern airlift technology within NATO.
