FAA Selects Peraton to Lead Nationwide Air Traffic Control Overhaul
The FAA has selected Peraton as prime integrator for a transformational modernization of the U.S. air traffic control system, backed by $12.5 billion in initial federal funding. The multi-year initiative will replace aging infrastructure including telecommunications networks, radar systems, and control facilities nationwide. Transportation Secretary Sean Duffy and FAA Administrator Bryan Bedford announced the award, emphasizing the program’s critical importance as the current system faces increasing equipment failures. The agency targets service entry by end of 2028 and has requested an additional $20 billion to complete the overhaul.
