China Eastern Launches World's Longest Direct Flight to Buenos Aires
China Eastern Airlines has launched the world’s longest intercontinental direct flight, connecting Shanghai and Buenos Aires via Auckland with a Boeing 777-39P(ER). The nonstop service reduces travel time between China and South America by over four hours, covering 9,346 kilometers from Shanghai to Auckland and 10,334 kilometers onward to Argentina. The inaugural flight, marked by a special ‘National Museum of China’ themed livery, completed the journey in approximately 25.5 hours including a scheduled stop. This strategic route strengthens aviation links across China, New Zealand, and Argentina while facilitating faster transport of specialty goods and cultural exchange.
