ArianeGroup Achieves First Launch of France's New SyLEx Suborbital System
ArianeGroup has successfully completed the first launch of SyLEx, France’s new sovereign suborbital test system, marking a significant milestone in European aerospace independence. The inaugural flight on November 28, 2025, from the DGA Missile Testing Centre in Biscarrosse validated both the single-stage rocket and its dedicated launch pad, developed in under three years. SyLEx will support civilian and military experiments, including atmospheric reentry trials and microgravity research, with payload capacity up to 600 kilograms and altitude capabilities between 200-400 kilometers. The successful mission represents France’s commitment to autonomous advanced flight testing capabilities.
