Airbus Faces Delivery Challenge: Can It Meet Its 2025 Target?
Airbus has slashed its 2025 delivery target from 820 to 790 aircraft due to a critical supplier quality issue affecting A320 Family fuselage panels. With 657 aircraft delivered through November, the European manufacturer must achieve 133 deliveries in December—an ambitious goal that would require near-record monthly performance. The discovery of fuselage panel defects requiring inspections on hundreds of jets, including over 240 in assembly, has significantly impacted production flow. Despite the reduction, 2025 deliveries are still expected to exceed 2024’s 766 aircraft.
