Air Transat Pilots Issue Strike Notice, Threatening Travel Disruptions
Air Transat faces potential operational disruption following a 72-hour strike notice issued by its pilot union on December 7, 2025. The Air Line Pilots Association (ALPA) is demanding a modern contract with industry-standard compensation and working conditions to replace their 2015 agreement. With 99% of the airline’s 750 pilots voting to authorize industrial action, the strike could commence December 10. While Air Transat has proposed a 59% five-year salary increase, negotiations remain deadlocked over contract terms, benefits, and job security provisions.
