A320 Update: Airbus Nears Completion of Fleet-Wide Safety Updates
Airbus has nearly completed precautionary software updates across its A320 family fleet following the discovery of a solar radiation vulnerability in flight-control systems. As of December 1, 2025, fewer than 100 aircraft remain to be modified out of approximately 6,000 potentially affected jets. The European manufacturer worked with airlines to implement fixes before the next passenger flight, though some operational disruptions occurred in late November. Major carriers including American Airlines, Delta, Lufthansa, and Qatar Airways have successfully completed their updates and resumed normal operations.
