The Swedish Air Ambulance Organisation has completed the maiden flight of its first Pilatus PC-24, marking an important milestone in the programme. Despite the disruption caused by the covid-19 pandemic, Pilatus successfully met the production schedule.
The Kommunalförbundet Svenskt Ambulansflyg (KSA) has awarded a contract to Pilatus for the delivery of six PC-24s, which will provide aeromedical care across Sweden from 2021. Following an intensive selection process, KSA opted for the PC-24 due to its flexibility and capacity.
Pilatus joined forces with Aerolite AG to design and build a PC-24 medevac interior for the Royal Flying Doctor Service of Australia. The RFDS currently operates 35 PC-12s, providing round-the-clock healthcare across Australia.
The Royal Flying Doctor Service of Australia has received the first medevac-equipped PC-24 from Pilatus, which will be used to transport patients across long distances. Configured specifically for patient transport, this PC-24 was developed in consultation with the RFDS to meet their needs.
Pilatus presented the first PC-24 with medevac interior to the Royal Flying Doctor Service of Australia on November 26, 2018. The aircraft was configured for patient transport and features an innovative aeromedical interior developed in partnership with Aerolite AG.
