Saab has presented an industrial proposal to support up to 12,600 jobs in Canada by localizing production of its Gripen fighter jet and GlobalEye airborne surveillance aircraft. According to AeroTime, Industry Minister Mélanie Joly confirmed that Ottawa is examining the proposal as part of its broader Canada-Sweden aerospace and defense partnership.

Hanwha Defense USA is investing $1 billion in a new facility to produce modular charge systems for 155mm howitzer ammunition. The plant, expected to start construction in 2026 and begin production by 2030, will create around 200 jobs and generate $500 million in annual revenue.
